I was lucky enough to still be in Korea for the celebration of Buddha's birthday and to experience the mile-long queue for free noodles at the Bongeunsa temple. Even though Koreans are mostly polite, there were plenty people who skipped the queue - mostly elderly, but in one case also a whole family. The temple was decorated with beautiful paper statues and lanterns and one could buy special decorations and candles in the religious store.
