Changdeokgung Palace

Built in 1405, reconstruted some 200 years later after a Japanese invasion, and once more after a fire around 100 years ago, this palace was built in harmony with the topography of the place and is asymmetrical (which is quite different from European palaces which tend to be more symmetrical). It is also on the UNESCO list. Several times a year, it is possible to buy special tickets for night time visit of the gardens together with traditional performances.

  1. There is so much character to these pictures, so different to anywhere I have been.

    1. Thank you! I'm happy you see it that way, I prefer the less tourist-y places of Seoul, the palace is actually not that special - I really want to go to the night tour - I think the atmosphere will be nicer.
