Stop Time

Despite weird noises coming from the bushes and ferocious mosqito attacks, this self timer picture-taking session was one of the most enjoyable ones I've done at the Hanyang uni campus. This is the bottom part of the staircase you'll see in "All the Staircases of Hanyang" post on Friday - it looks like a completely different place though. It doesn't even look like Seoul or Korea (because I cropped the skyscrapers out of the picture ( ̄ー ̄) ) or a university campus - though Todai's lake and hair dresser expanded my concept of academic premises.

Despite being doubtful about how my DIY skirt will go with the new Korean designer top (I stumbled upon a young designer's mini shop in Migliore and got lured into buying a two-piece she designed), the combo ended up looking better than I expected. Thanks to the busy print, the black base of the crop top is not too overwhelming and is balanced by the black on my headband and bag. While the skirt has actually a steel blue lining, it looks pretty much white and neutral. (And the cool undertones even match the handrail!) Even though the top and the skirt have the same shape, the bit of exposed midriff and the fitted cut around waist and hips make the outfit not lose shape, while the length of the skirt tones down the belly peek-a-boo.

Skirt: DIY
Top: Divine Comedy, Dongdaemun, Seoul
Bag: ?, gift, Prague
Shoes: off brand, Gangnam station, Seoul
Headband: Daiso, Seoul

Gerald mercilessly called my face in this photo "casting for the Planet of Apes"... But I was proud of my jump and my ability to time it well enough to be captured by a mere self-timer. So I'm putting it here anyway as a little bonus for you to laugh.

Yours truly
Vita

    1. Thank you, it's actually a really simple pattern! Just two pieces of fabric per layer. :)

  4. Most of the photos I take to myself to put on the blog are self-taken so I fully understand! I like the final one very much :)
